Philodendron Black Plant
Black cardinal philodendron, also known as blushing philodendron, is an easy-to-care-for tropical plant that can brighten up any home or indoor garden. That said, let's dive into the growing requirements of this beautiful plant.
Soil:
Like other aroid plants, Philodendron soil should be a loose, well-draining potting mix. Without good drainage, excess water soaks into the roots and rots the root system. The Black Cardinal, like other Philodendron varieties, thrives in bright indirect light.
Water-It is time to water your black cardinal philodendron when the top of the plant dries up. Just stick your finger into the wet soil, and if the top inch feels bone dry, your plant needs a drink.
Fertilizer/care tips-Grow your plants in loose, well-draining soil. Use only African violet soil amended with perlite or sphagnum moss as a growing medium. Feed once a month in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Use NPK 10-10-10 fertilizer to provide proper nutrient balance.
