ICE PLANT
If you're looking for a vibrant way to fill a garden space, snow plants ( Delosperma sp.) are an easy-to-grow and prolific flowering ground cover option. Native to South Africa, these heat-loving perennials can command a lot of attention in the landscape.
Soil
An ice plant requires dry soil with excellent drainage. The plant will suffer in constantly wet conditions and will not grow at all in dense clay soils.
Water
Once established, water your snow plant sparingly throughout the growing season. In the absence of rain, a watering every two weeks should suffice, though weekly watering may be required in hot weather.
Light
The ice plant needs a sunny location that receives at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight a day. It can tolerate partial shade, but doesn't bloom nearly as much.
