HAWORTHIA

A charming little succulent called a Haworthia makes a very pretty small houseplant.

The stiff, long, pointed leaves in the rosette's Centre are juicy and luscious. Each leaf varies in color from bright to olive green.

On the outside of the leaves, hundreds of greenish-white bumps (tubercles) give the surface an ornate spotted appearance.

What makes it special:

Sunlight               -   Bright indirect light

Watering             - For the wet season, low moderate for the season, more than typical for summer (June to September)

Soil                      - Well drained soil

Temperature      - 22 to 35 degrees Celsius 

Fertilizer             -   Apply organic fertilizer

Plant Protection

• Remove any damaged, diseased, or dead plant components, and dispose of them far from the living plants.

• Use a spray of neem oil, eucalyptus oil, or citrus oil as the first line of defense against any disease or insect attack.

 HAWORTHIA CARE

• Before watering the soil, check the moisture content.

• Using your finger, probe the soil; if it seems (soil) dry, add water.

• Maintain the plant in bright indirect light.

• After getting it, do not immediately re-pot it.

Re-potting

• Repot a plant with new potting soil and nutrients when it outgrows its existing container.

• Repot the plant in the late evening, keep it in a shaded area for two to three days, and then relocate it to a location with the right climate.
