Golden Barrel Coloured cactus
Golden Barrel Colored cactus
Echinocactus grusonii, often known as the golden barrel cactus, is ideal for growing inside in locations with direct sunlight. The plant is amusingly referred to as "mother-in-law cushion."
As their name suggests, barrel cacti are almost perfectly circular when young, making them ideal display plants. Given the evenly placed rows or spines of their heavily ribbed lobes, they are very appealing.
Botanical name: Echinocactus grusonii
Other names: Kroenleinia grusonii, Golden ball cactus, Mother-in-law's cushion, Golden barrel
Light
The best window for a barrel cactus is one that faces south or that receives lots of sunlight. Lack of sunshine will cause plants to develop slowly and struggle to survive.
Temperature
Although the cactus prefers warm, dry environments, it can survive in temperatures as low as 18°celsius
Water
Make sure the soil drains fully and water sparingly. Do not let them stand in water or leave any water in the tray. The root rot of Golden Barrel cactus is fairly common.
Soil
Cactus soil mix is the best type of soil. Make sure to add sand or extra perlite to a typical peat-based mix to improve drainage.
Fertilizer
Feed your cactus plants with a mild liquid fertilizer all during the growing season.
Note:
We send all the succulents bare rooted/without soil. Because with soil there are chances of root rot. Images are only for reference; the actual product may differ in shape and size. The product is replaceable but non-returnable.
