What is water hyacinth

Water hyacinth is a type of invasive floating plant found in water bodies across the world. These invasive species block the sunlight reaching an oxygen level in the water system, which results in damaging water quality and which seriously affects various life forms in the ecosystem. Water hyacinths are  like natural water filters , and are used to clean impurities from bodies of water. They prevent algal blooms and purify water contaminated with heavy metals and other toxic chemicals. The water  hyacinth is found in Christian churches as a symbol of happiness and love.
