Three phases of composting of Material
Composting phases
Garden waste, also known as yard waste, is a biogenic type of waste collected during the municipal garden maintenance activities, such as trimming, pruning, cleaning of the green plots, and cultivated grounds. It often consists of twigs, clippings, sticks, and multiple organic products. Its composition can differ importantly depending on the season, method of the collection of waste, as well as location. Since it contains a significant amount of organic matter, its sustainable management is becoming most important.
Mesophilic Phase :
Mesophilic microorganisms carry out decomposition under medium temperatures.
Thermophilic Phase :
As the temperature rises, various thermophilic bacteria decompose the composting of material. This is the most active phase of decomposition in the composting method.
Maturation phase:
As the supply of high-energy, carbon-based compounds dwindles in the pile, the temperature starts decreasing, and the mesophiles predominate again. By the end of this maturation process, in around three months, composting is complete
Overall, pit composting is one of the easiest ways to deal with garden waste. All you need to do is maintain the right mix of organic compost material and water the pit regularly.
Including the phase of composting material, you can do three phases in a single set up. This set up is Vertical Garden tower with both planter and composter.
