We all want fresh farm fruits in our bowls since they are excellent source of vitamins and antioxidants but you know it’s quite dubious these days about the purity of fruits we have since they are mostly prepared by the application of harmful chemicals like carbide. But the best thing in the story is you can now grow your favorite fruits trees in your own balcony and terrace garden. In this article we will discuss such fruit trees –
- Guava
The tropical fruit plant is highly rich in vitamin C, lycopene and antioxidants beneficial for our skin as it remains hydrated along with its unique flavor in delicious jellies and juices.
Planting& care- Guava grows best in sandy loam soil with good drainage and full sun in wide and broad pots with application of right mix of fertilizer and manure. It can be easily propagated from cutting and seeds.
- Pomegranate
Pomegranate fruit with its characteristic red color grows excellently in pots as it has a shallow root system requiring limited space, it is richest source of vitamin C,K and dietary fiber. Apart for its fruits it is also grown as ornamental tree and as shrubs for landscaping.
Planting& care – Generally pomegranate is propagated by cutting and seed in late summers; it grows best in well drained soil in full sun and high humidity level. Also the container should be three times bigger than size of plant. Pomegranate is a heavy feeder of fertilizer in its growing phases.
