Blue Colorata, Nymphaea Colorata, Tropical Water Lily Plant

Nymphaea colorata (Water Lily) is a day-blooming aquatic perennial boasting rounded green leaves, up to 8 in (20 cm), adorned with bluish to purple. Floating on the surface of the water, they create a lovely backdrop for the pinwheel-shaped flowers, 4-5 in across (10-12 cm). Each blossom features wisteria blue, pointed petals (13-15) surrounding a conspicuous bouquet of purple stamens.

Blooming all summer, Nymphaea colorata is a tropical nymphaeum that is non viviparous and free flowering. It will continue to bloom when the temperature drops to 18°C.
