The Sansevieria variety Boncel is characterized by pointed leaves. Sansevieria, an African native, is also known as the snake plant or mother-in-law's tongue. It spreads through its creeping roots to form dense stands. From a basal rosette, its rigid sword-like leaves shoot vertically. Unique leaves on the Sanseveria 'Boncel', sometimes known as the Starfish, are spherical, sturdy, and spread out like a fan. It is cultivated for the bowstring hemp-like fibre found in the leaves.

It is one of the finest plants for enhancing interior air quality by passively collecting pollutants like nitrogen oxides and formaldehyde,

Flowering and Fragrance

Rarely, but in the spring, Sansevieria Boncel produces a spikey raceme. The nighttime fragrance comes from greenish-white blossoms.

Watering 

Avoid overwatering. In between two watering , let the soil dry out. Water once a month in the winter or more often if the soil is dry.

Grooming and maintenance 

If you wish to maintain the plant's size and height, prune sparingly.

With most indoor plants, pruning encourages growth, but not with this plant. Pruning should be done at a very low frequency.

Take precautions against common indoor pests, particularly spider mites, mealybugs, and vine weevils. When watering, check the plant's leaves.
